Technical Coordinator for traveling exhibit: World Vision’s Experience AIDS National Tour 2010
The Production Network (www.tpnevents.com)is a creative production company, working with a non-profit client to develop and tour an interactive exhibit telling the story and raising awareness of AIDS in Africa. The Technical Coordinator’s core responsibility is to oversee the on-site installation and dismantle of this traveling exhibit. S/he will also be responsible for working with the Tour Staff to train volunteers, troubleshoot, and coordinate with both our account manager and the client’s tour management team. S/he works as a key member of the touring team of 4 members, collaborating with the tour communication manager and tour operation specialists (these team members are employed by the client). During event hours this person will also transition and work with the tour staff and volunteers to run the event days and manage the flow of the exhibit and ancillary events.
The TC acts as a generalist to supply a single source of production and technical management. The TC interfaces with our account manager to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. S/he is a professional and passionate individual, works graciously under pressure, fosters a respectful and collaborative work environment, and is able to prioritize and exhibit creativity and flexibility in problem-solving.
The client for this project is World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization. During the term of this Tour, the TC agrees to conduct him/herself in a manner reflective of the client’s culture, communicating and demonstrating a quality of spiritual life, values and Christian ethos, and shall exemplify and model appropriate personal and public behavior and persona as reasonably expected by a Christian organization.
Job Requirements: Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position include but are not limited to:
• Demonstrated background and working experience in event/exhibit production, experiential marketing, brand ambassadorship and/or touring productions.
• Ability to read on-site plans and fabrication drafting. Ability to create scaled drawings.
• Working knowledge of basic A/V, electrical, stage carpentry, and props. Working knowledge of AutoCAD LT or similar drafting program preferred but not required.
• Experience working with (and preferably managing) volunteers.
• Skilled at collaborating and working in a unified manner with other team members.
• Willingness to work with diverse partners, with a commitment to serving children and people in need.
• Ability to professionally and effectively represent a brand at a public event.
• Ability to work in an organized, flexible and efficient manner in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes. Individual must be able to react, adapt and assist as required due to change.
• Enthusiastic, passionate and responsible individual with excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Outlook).

Experience Required:
Qualifications include:
• 3 years’ progressive experience in a technical production role.
• 3 years’ experience interfacing directly with clients to deliver projects.
• Preference given to candidates with previous working experience in experiential marketing and/or as a brand ambassador.
Education Desired:
Undergraduate degree preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. |
