Job Description: This position will primarily provide maintenance, process controls, and accuracy for the financial reporting of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. The Staff Accountant is expected to be knowledgeable in all accounting and auditing issues and to make recommendations to the V.P. & CFO and the President regarding the application of current accounting principles. This position is a critical part of the Administrative team and will ensure proper stewardship of donor resources in order to enhance the agency’s services for children.
Job Requirements: Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA, though a GPA of at least 3.3 is preferred. Additional qualifications include demonstrated experience of at least 2-3 years in an accounting role, the desire to do additional systematic self-study and attend trainings to upgrade knowledge skills and to stay current with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial and accounting software applications are vital. Must have demonstrated experience performing bank reconciliations.
